Very Berry Cran Apple

Crust:
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. baking powder
8 Tbsp. unsalted butter
3 Tbsp ice water

Combine dry ingreds in food processor and process until mixed. Cut cold butter into 8 pieces and scatter on top of dry ingreds. Process till butter is pea sized. Add water and process till dough just forms ball. Wrap in plastic and refridgerate for at least 20 mins. Roll dough out into 9" pie pan and par bake for 10 mins. in preheated 350 degree oven.

Filling:

1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup currants
1/4 cup diced candied orange peel
1 1/12 cup fresh cranberries chopped rough
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
6 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp orange zest
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
6 cups apples rough chopped

Soak currants and candied orange in brandy for 1 hr.
Mix all ingreds in large bowl and add brandy and fruit.
Spread in pie shell. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20 mins.

Topping:
1 cup flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter in pieces
1 cup rough chop walnuts

Mix filling together in food processor. Spread over baked filling and return to oven for 20-30 mins. Watch to see topping is not browning too quickly. If so, cover with foil.
