Recipe for "GRANNY MAE'S SWEET&SOUR APPLE PIE" Ingredients: Flour, sweet butter, milk or water, Crisco, salt, Granny Smith green apples, cinnamon, brown and white sugar, 3 lemons Using 8-10 green apples, peel & core them. Slice the apples into a bowl of water with the juice of 3 lemons and a tlb. of salt. Let the slices soak while preparing crust. Put 3 cups flour Pinch of salt 1cup Crisco In a bowl Using a pastry blender until bowl looks full of white peas Take 3 Tlbs of cold water or milk and sprinkle over flour mixture Using a Fork, stir mixture into a ball Divide ball into 2 balls, one a bit larger(bottom crust) Using Crisco, grease 9" pie plate, Roll out on a floured board the larger crust ball. Place 2 small pats of sweet butter on top of rolled out dough Place butter side up into greased pie plate Drain the lemon water from bowl of sliced apples, add 1cup Brown Sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 Tbl. Cinnamon 1 Tbl.
