The 2012 APC Crisco National Pie Championships will take place at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL. Amateur pie makers, professional bakers/chefs & commercial pie companies from around the country & Canada have been competing at the NPC since 1995. The APC has created a standard of quality in pie making on all levels. We have a well-established record in the pie-judging field for both amateur bakers, professional and commercial bakers alike. Our commercial members have shown that winning an APC award can substantially increase sales and market share in that category and the competition gets tougher each year.
Beautiful Emile Henry pie dishes are the "Official Pie Dish" of the American Pie Council. We are pleased to say that all entrants will receive one Emile Henry pie dish at registration.
Friday, April 27, 2012 the National Pie Championships kick off with the Commercial Division of the NPC. Commercial entrants will register their pies starting at 6:00AM. These pies will be judged on Friday and awards will be presented on Friday evening at the Pie Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Caribe Royale.
On Friday, April 27, 2012 Independent Bakers (bakers under $1,000,000 in pie sales) can enter their pies in a new division of the Commercial Competition. Registration starts at 8AM. These pies are judged on Friday and awards will be presented on Friday evening at the Pie Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Caribe Royale.
Entries for commercial and independent will be accepted in the following flavors; apple, apple crumb, banana cream, berry, blueberry, cherry, chocolate cream, citrus, coconut cream, cookie/candy cream, open cream, custard, key lime, silk cream, peach, pumpkin, raisin, nut, open, open fruit/berry, peanut butter and Best New Product. In addition, we've added two new flavors; strawberry and tropical fruit flavors.
On Friday, April 27, 2012 Amateur contestants have the opportunity to bake on site at the APC Crisco National Pie Championships on a new Kenmore range. These pies and others entered will be judged on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Awards will be presented on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Great American Pie Festival at 6:45PM. Entries will be accepted in the following flavors: apple, , Crisco Classic Cherry, Crisco Classic Chocolate, Crisco Innovation, citrus, fruit/berry, raisin, cream cheese, no sugar added, cream, custard, gluten free, nut, sweet potato, pumpkin, peanut butter and open.
On Saturday, April 28, 2012 Professional contestants have the opportunity to bake on site at the APC Crisco National Pie Championships on a new Kenmore range. These pies and others entered will be judged on Sunday, April 29, 2012 Awards will be presented on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Great American Pie Festival. Entries are accepted in the following flavors: apple, Crisco Classic Cherry, Crisco Classic Chocolate, Crisco Innovation, citrus, cream, fruit/berry, nut, peanut butter, raisin, mini-pies and open.
High school students who are interested in pie baking will bake on site on a new Kenmore range on Saturday, April 28, 2012. These pies will be judged on Sunday, April 29, 2012 and awards will be presented at the Great American Pie Festival on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Entries are accepted in the following flavors: apple, cream, open and fruit/berry.
