Reaching High Chocolate Pecan Pie

Crust:
1 cup cold Crisco Shorting
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 egg
1 Tablespoon white distilled vinegar
1/4 cup cold water
mix together crisco, salt, flour, until it resembles corn meal. mix together in another bowl egg, water, vinegar add to flour mixture all at once. toss with fork until mixture forms a ball knead and pat into a disk refrigerate until ready to use. roll out pastry and place in prepared pie pan. chill before filling.

Ingredients: preheat oven 3325
1/4 cup melted butter
1 cup white corn syrup
1/3 cup sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips- reserve 3 tablespoon of chips
1 2/3 cups of pecan halves- reserve 16 pecan halves for garnish

Instruction#1

In a large bowl mix eggs, melted butter, corn syrup, sugar, vanilla bean paste and hand whip with a whisk until frothy. add pecans and chocolate chips and fold into mixture. pour and spread evenly into prepared crust. Bake 325 for 60-70 minutes cool completely before cutting.

Instructions#2
For garnish bake 16 half pecans for 2-5 minutes just toast to light brown cool and melt the 3 tablespoons of reserved chocolate chips in mircowave. When pecans are cool dip half of pecan in melted chocolate place on parchment to dry. use to garnish top of pie
