1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1/4 t. salt 5 T. chilled butter 1/4 c. chilled Crisco shortening 4 -5 T. ice water Mix together flour and salt. Add butter and shortening. Using a pastry blender, mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle in water, 1 T. at a time, fluffing with a fork. Flatten dough into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled. Roll dough out on a floured surface and fit into a 9 inch deep-dish pie plate, trim and crimp edges.
